Blogging and Where the Hits Are:

I tried an experiment.  The verdict is in, quality over quantity. However, old blogs at myspace.com do not seem to get any hits, while new ones are much more likely to get a few.  I want to overcome this dirge.  It is also important to keep a constant flow of new information.  I had roughly 50 hits a week before I lost my internet connection, and since then it has been very slow going getting back to that number.  I have worked back up to 10 hits a week.  Right now, I am going through my old blog posts at myspace and posting them at blogspot.  Blogspot allows for 500 readily available blogs rather than the handful that myspace allows for.  I posted a link for blogspot on my front page at myspace.  It is craigsandwich.blogspot.com.  I put “sandwich” in the title because it turns up on google.  Recently, I also linked my facebook account here at myspace.  Unfortunately, somehow my background image disappeared.  It is the Libertarian political symbol, but with an A through it, symbolizing anarchy.  I felt it would be good to test blogging on the internet, as it could be a source for income if the political machine does not affect great legal changes to the system. That is, as the economy slowly worsens, people, especially youngsters are going to become more and more fed up with the way things are, such that a profit may be foreseeable, as a rebel blogger.  If this was the case, then I would probably try to publish a book, or maybe a few on the subject, but if I can already have the market familiar to me that is of assistance.

This was the experiment:

At www.myspace.com/crgnlsnhmltn I posted over 200 blogs with roughly 2,000 reads.  That is roughly 10 hits per blog.  The quality here is often lower.

Then at www.myspace.com/infomagistics I posted two blogs, and got ~50 reads.  That is roughly 20 hits per blog.  These were two well-written blogs.
I got 300 downloads in a month at www.demonoid.com when I posted a book at www.demonoid.com. The book was very low quality, but it shows that the market for anarchy is there. I titled it, “Anarchist Socialism in a Capitalist Environment.” It was roughly 200 pages. I wanted to test the market, but I know half the people at demonoid do not even bother to look at the material for such things. It is more along the lines of, “Yeah, that’s free? I will download it and not bother to look at it, along with 50 other things. This would probably be the attitude of someone that would buy it at a bookstore. I would be more interested in seeing a return for what I write, so posting it for free it not my idea of optimal.
