Why the New Testament and Jesus Attracts Insane People:

After having a manic episode, someone sold me on Jesus. I picked up a New Testament. I transferred to a Christian College. It was as if a bird crapped on my head. I took my pills. I sorted it out. Then, I stopped attending church and left the religion. However, I do enjoy reading what some theologians have to say.

Top Ten Reasons:

Delusions of grandeur and the character Jesus fit very well. This is a model for achieving power.

Churches offer emotional support of insanity for those in need. Cults are infamous for this.

The prospect of miracles and healing is very important and near in dear to most insane people.

The New Testament is big enough that it is difficult for any person, much less an insane person, to sift through.

Priests and pastors generally support offering of forgiveness for any action. Bipolar and schizophrenic people often suffer legal consequences for their actions.

Many in the church will outright deny terms such as hyper-religiosity that psychiatrists and emotional counselors frown upon. Thus, there is support of the religious experience and little worry about things, such as science.

The church is a place that often becomes a den of immorality. Religiosity is one way to hide behind one’s actions. Anton Levee, the author of the Satanic Bible, supported these claims.

The imagery of Jesus suffering on the cross fits well with the emotional roller coaster that is bipolar.

Delusions of grandeur often fit well with the denial of evolution in support of much easier to understand creationist theories.

The actions of Pentecostal denominations, such as a weekly alter call support hyper-religious tendencies.
